For those who asked, here are two more ink drawings of the alleys near my home in Toronto. The first was drawn earlier, at the start of the summer, while the second was drawn a week or so ago. As you might be able to tell, I was bit rusty when I drew the more recent one, and my markers were a little more worn down.

You always nail the composition, which is half the battle! And you mentioned markers not a digital piece?Amazing!
Mike,
You've gotta make up little prints or postcards of these and sell them. I'd buy some along with the image of Claudia in Kensington Market!

Rusty! I should be so rusty.
Looks great!
Just amazing Mike. Great stuff as usual.
Awsome!!!! Its interesting to analyze how you change values using only black, white and green.
it looks like old pictures..
it doesnt look like drawing or painting...
it's awesome.
I like the mood of yr drawing all the time.~

love the back alley series... Chicago has some nice alleys that still have a bit of the old Chicago in them.
Keep them coming our way, I love the old spot color look. Reminds me of the illustration on different school supplements from when I was in a kid.
I love your sketches of back alleyways. I remember about 25 years ago wanting to do a calender on the same subject (but using photography) and they laughed at me. I'm glad I'm not alone finding alleyways of interest.
always enjoy your 'back-drawings': just like a window, through which i - sitting in germany - can peek into toronto back alleys.
I really really like these. The atmosephere and overall green is just brilliantly done.
tremendous talent. well done
