Happy 2008, everyone! I'm finally back in my studio after a nice holiday layoff, and drew up this quick batch of sketches as a warm-up to get the kinks out before settling down to work. I have no idea why I chose the theme -- it just struck me as kinda funny.
Hope you like 'em!

haha! fun stuff, michael.
This is your warm up? Great faces, Michael. I like the Hulk, she kinda looks like Hopey.
Ha! Awesome! Hey, did you get my card? I wasn't sure if I put enough postage on there for Canada.
I'll take the HFH, please.
Hey, with enough soap, I think I can do most of these hairstyles in the shower! Very fun stuff, and beautiful two-tone as always.
Hilarious!
Brilliant!
I think my lady would look smashing with the Kal El.
I heart your art like no other's
Mike: thanks, Mike. Funnily enough, I was actually thinking of your "wolverine sharing tea with his stuffed animal" drawing while doodling this!
Cadwell: thanks, Adam -- yeah, I was thinking the same thing -- it DOES look like Hopey circa 1989! I'll always picture her when I see a scarecrow haircut like that.
Jason: thanks, Jason -- and yes, I did get the card -- much thanks and Happy Holidays!
J: just print it out and take it your local barber -- but don't blame me if you don't like the results :)
Fran: thanks, honey -- and I KNOW you can do these styles -- I've seen you model the wolverine...
Ras yeti: thanks, dude!
da Janx: thanks!
Ed: thanks, Ed!
These are great, i get so happy when i look on my igoogle page for your Rss. It is wonderful to see such beautiful work. I hope that you are gainfully employed. It not it is a loss to the world. I stubbled across your page while searching for Window displays. I saw your work and was hooked.
Keep it up :)
I'm going to get the Prince Namor.
I think they're superb Michael. I'm psyching myself up to do some proper drawing again after the Christmas lull, and seeing these has encouraged me to get cracking! Cheers!
Kate: thanks for the very nice words, Kate! I hope you'll keep stopping by.
Honolulu Dogfight: thanks, dude -- all you need is some styling gel and a whole lot of hair on the sides...
Dan: thanks, Dan -- its always flattering to hear that I've encouraged or inspired another artist!
Hilarious stuff, Michael. BTW your blog is full of inspirational stuff. Bravo.
Hehe! All great Mike.
The Power'Wo'Man is tops!
I'm totally hair-salon phobic, but you could actually get me to go to a salon if they had these in their window. ~Arna
Happy 2008 Michael (and Claudia)from John and Arna!
